OH02B10 1/7.5" CMOS 2 Megapixel (1500 x 1500) Image Sensor with PureCel®Plus-S Technology

New high-resolution image sensor features CameraCubeChip® package with AntLinx™ digital interface for the smallest and thinnest disposable endoscope designs

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — November 8, 2022 — OMNIVISION, a leading global developer of semiconductor solutions, including advanced digital imaging, analog, and touch & display technology, today announced the OH02B image sensor – the first square 2‑megapixel (MP) (1500 x 1500) resolution CMOS image sensor for gastrointestinal, ENT, orthopedic, surgical, dental, and veterinarian reusable and disposable endoscopes, catheters, and guide wires. It is available in the smallest form factor 2.5 x 2.5 mm CameraCubeChip® package (OCH2B) for disposable designs. It features OMNIVISION’s AntLinx™ proprietary technology, which provides the thinnest 4-meter interface connection directly from the endoscope camera to the camera control unit (CCU) tower. The OH02B imager and OCH2B camera will be demonstrated at COMPAMED Germany, November 14-17, 2022, Hall 8a/P13.

OH02B10 1/7.5-inch CMOS 2-Megapixel (1500 x 1500) Image Sensor with PureCel®Plus-S Technology

“The medical industry is moving to single-use endoscopes to minimize cross-contamination and improve patient safety. CCD-based image sensors cannot meet today’s high-performance endoscope requirements and are being phased out,” said Richard Yang, senior marketing manager, OMNIVISION. “CMOS image sensors, such as the OH02B, are critical for the disposable endoscope market because they enable high resolution and small size, generate very low heat at the tip of the scope design, and are cost-effective for one-time use. OMNIVISION’s CameraCubeChip® design provides further size advantages and simplifies design resources and the supply chain.”

AntLinx™ Long-Reach Digital Interface
OMNIVISION’s AntLinx™ digital interface connects the OH02B/OCH2B from the endoscope camera to the CCU tower. It features only four thin micro-coaxial cables that reach 4 meters long. It is not affected by noise or electromagnetic interference and has minimal electromagnetic conduction. AntLinx™ delivers superior video quality and reduces interface conversion requirements, even for long-reach applications like gastrointestinal endoscopy.

Latest Image Sensor Technology in Smallest Form Factor
The OH02B image sensor is built on OMNIVISION’s latest PureCel®Plus‑S stacked-die technology. It is available in the OCH2B CameraCubeChip® package that features a small 2.5 x 2.5 mm size with exceedingly high image quality for disposable endoscope designs.

Medical Certifications Streamline FDA Approval Process
OMNIVISION is ISO13485 certified and medical products are EMC and EMI tested, which helps to streamline the medical device OEM’s FDA approval process. The OCH2B is also biocompatible and waterproof, and the OH02B is autoclavable. It does not require tuning or calibration.

Samples of the OH02B imager and OCH2B camera are available now. For more information, contact your OMNIVISION sales representative: www.ovt.com/contact-sales.
