OMNIVISION’s Commitment to Science-Based Climate Action and Sustainability

January 21, 2025: OmniVision Technologies, Inc. is committed to operating in a way that ensures safe, healthful, and productive working conditions, protects the environment and the communities in which we work, and conserves natural resources. We continuously improve our environmental, health, and safety (EHS) management systems to maintain compliance, monitor performance, eliminate risks, and integrate industry best practices. As part of our broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy, we are actively investing in emissions reduction activities and environmental responsibility measures to drive meaningful change.

In 2025, we marked a milestone in our sustainability journey by updating our Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) strategy, reinforcing our pledge across our value chain in accordance with the SBTi Net-Zero Standard.

Our science-based targets align with global climate goals:

  • Overall Net-Zero Target: OmniVision Technologies, Inc. commits to reach net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across our value chain by 2050.
  • Near-Term Targets: We commit to reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2GHG emissions by 37.8% by 2029 from a 2023 baseline. Additionally, we will reduce Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services by 48% per chip sold by 2029 from a 2022 baseline.
  • Long-Term Targets: We commit to reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 90% by 2050 from a 2023 baseline and cutting Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods, services, and product use by 97% per chip sold by 2050 from a 2022 baseline.

With the approval of our near-term science-based emissions reduction target by the SBTi, we have taken a critical step toward a sustainable future. We are also committed to setting long-term emissions reduction targets in full alignment with the SBTi Net-Zero Standard. As a participant in the Business Ambition for 1.5°C and the UNFCCC Race to Zero campaign, we recognize the urgency of deep and rapid emissions reductions.

We encourage our stakeholders to join us in taking decisive climate action, ensuring a more sustainable and resilient future for all.
