SAN JOSE, CA — August 26, 2002 — OMNIVISION Technologies, Inc.® (Nasdaq: OVTI), a market-leading independent supplier of CMOS CameraChip™ solutions for high-volume imaging applications, today announced it is providing AIPTEK Inc. with Mega Pixel CameraChips™ for use in their OEM/ODM and branded product offerings, including their Mini Cam Pen lines of digital still cameras.

OMNIVISION is providing its 1.3 million pixel resolution OV9620 and 2.0 million pixel OV2610 CameraChips™ to AIPTEK. Announced in November 2001 OMNIVISION’s OV9620 is a 1.3 million pixel resolution color CameraChip™ designed for Digital Still Camera applications that require image resolution capable of producing keepsake quality prints but where design complexity and power requirements are of concern. Similarly, the OV2610, announced in June 2002, is a 2 million pixel resolution CameraChip™ that is pin-for-pin compatible with the OV9620. Both CameraChips™ utilize a 1/2-inch lens format and operate on 3.3 volts. The combination of high resolution and low power consumption enable camera manufacturers to provide high image quality camera solutions with greater battery life than competing CCD based solutions.
