Entertainment Toy an Early Success with Over a Million CameraChips Shipped

SUNNYVALE, Calif. — December 8, 2005 — OmniVision Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: OVTI), the world’s leading supplier of CMOS image sensors, announced today that its OV7930 VGA CMOS CameraChip™ is featured in a video and music entertainment system from one of the largest toy makers in the world. The new toy puts kids on camera, so they can see themselves on TV as they sing along to their favorite songs.

This toy, which includes a camera, wireless microphone and special effects lenses, is the first of its kind in the entertainment toy market. OmniVision’s OV7930 CameraChip™ brings to the table a cost efficient, true single-chip design with high video quality. With over one million units already shipped, the new video and music entertainment system is likely to be one of this year’s hottest selling Christmas toys.

“It is an honor for OmniVision to be the main supplier of camera technology for one of the world’s largest brand name toy makers,” said Hasan Gadjali, Vice President of the Advanced Products Business Unit at OmniVision Technologies. “This design win represents another milestone for OmniVision as we continue to drive the use of image sensors in the toy and games market by supplying camera solutions in high volume to another tier one toy vendor.”

The OV7930 is a high-performance, color VGA CameraChip™ designed specifically for applications requiring a low power, cost-efficient solution. The OV7930 supports NTSC composite video output and a true single chip design that incorporates a direct interface to the TV monitor. The PAL version OV7910 is used for the European markets. Both OV7930 and OV7910 come in a lead-free package.
