SUNNYVALE, CA — May 2, 2003 — OMNIVISION Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: OVTI), a market-leading independent supplier of CMOS CameraChip™ solutions for high-volume imaging applications, announced today that it has appointed Joseph Jeng as a member of OMNIVISION’s Board of Directors in April, 2003. Mr. Jeng succeeds Tsuey-Jiuan Chen who has served as a director since August 2001 and has resigned to pursue other business interests.
OMNIVISION would like to thank Ms. Chen for her leadership and excellent service over the past few years. During her tenure as a member of OMNIVISION’s Board of Directors, Ms. Chen offered valuable business advice to the executive management team, including sharing her wealth of knowledge and wisdom in dealing with customers in Asia.
Mr. Jeng brings more than 30 years of experience in the technology sector to OMNIVISION’s Board. Mr. Jeng founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of Altatron, Inc., a global supply-chain manufacturing services company, which was acquired by Flextronics, Inc. in 1998. Prior to his tenure with Altatron, Mr. Jeng served as President of Digital Optics, an electro-optic technology company, and as an executive of Spectra Physics, a laser and systems company. Mr. Jeng currently consults with numerous technology companies, including companies focused on electronic banking and funds movement management technology, laser safety and material processing technology, and wireless communication technology. Mr. Jeng is a graduate of Harvard University with masters degrees in both physics and business administration.
