OMNIVISION Comments on Erroneous Reports of Projected 2005 Wafer Purchases and Recent Unit Shipments of CMOS Sensors
Nov 22, 2004

SUNNYVALE, Calif. — November 22, 2004 — In response to recent reports that in 2005 it might purchase as many as one million wafers from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), OmniVision Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: OVTI) noted that such reports are inaccurate, and that in any event it is the Company’s policy not to provide projections for targeted or expected wafer purchases.

Likewise, in response to a report that in recent months OmniVision’s shipments of CMOS image sensors have averaged approximately 10 million units per month, the Company noted that such report is inaccurate and that it is the Company’s policy not to announce unit shipments of sensors prior to the release of results for the fiscal quarter.

As previously announced, the Company will report second-quarter fiscal 2005 results after the close of the market on November 30, 2004.
